The Delhi government has set a deadline of March 31, 2025, for completing the E-KYC of ration cards. If you haven’t done it yet, your name might be removed from the ration card list, leading to a loss of subsidized ration and eligibility for upcoming government schemes like the Mahila Samriddhi Yojana (which provides Rs.2500 to eligible women). If your ration card is lost, don’t worry! You can download an e-ration card online and complete your E-KYC hassle-free.

Let’s guide you through the process step-by-step so that you can continue enjoying government benefits.

Why is E-KYC Mandatory for Ration Cards?

E-KYC (Electronic Know Your Customer) is a mandatory process to ensure that government benefits reach only the eligible citizens. The Delhi government is updating ration card records after a long gap since 2013. Many families have experienced changes, including deaths and relocations, making verification essential.

Without E-KYC, you may lose access to:

    • Subsidized food grains under National Food Security Act (NFSA)
    • Financial aid schemes like Mahila Samriddhi Yojana (Rs.2500 per month)
    • Healthcare benefits like Ayushman Bharat Yojana
    • Other upcoming social welfare schemes

How to Download Your E-Ration Card Online?

If your ration card is lost, you can download an e-ration card online in a few minutes. Follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Find Your Ration Card Details

    1. Visit the Delhi Government’s Food Security Portal (https://nfs.delhi.gov.in/)
    2. Click on Citizen’s Corner > View Your Ration Card Details
    3. Enter the Aadhaar number of any family member
    4. Enter the captcha code and click Search
    5. Your ration card details will be displayed on the screen
    6. Note down your ration card number and HOF (Head of Family) name

Step 2: Download Your E-Ration Card

    2. Click on Citizen’s Corner > Get e-Ration Card
    3. Enter the following details:
      1. Ration Card Number
      1. HOF Name
      1. Mobile Number linked with Aadhaar
      1. Date of Birth
    4. Enter the captcha code and click Continue
    5. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number
    6. Enter the OTP and click Proceed
    7. Your e-ration card will be available for download

How to Complete E-KYC for Your Ration Card?

If you haven’t completed E-KYC, you need to do it before March 31, 2025, to avoid deactivation. Here’s how:

Online Method (via Mera Ration App)

    1. Download ‘Mera Ration’ App from Google Play Store
    2. Log in with your ration card details
    3. Click on E-KYC Update
    4. Enter your Aadhaar number
    5. Verify using OTP received on your mobile
    6. Upload a recent photograph (if required)
    7. Submit the form

Offline Method (via Ration Shop or CSC Center)

    1. Visit your nearest ration shop or Common Service Center (CSC)
    2. Carry your Aadhaar Card, Ration Card, and Mobile Number
    3. Provide fingerprint authentication
    4. The official will complete E-KYC verification
    5. Collect the E-KYC receipt

Current Status of E-KYC in Delhi

Delhi has 72,77,995 ration cards, and a large number of them have already been updated with E-KYC. However, many people are still left, especially in areas where internet connectivity is low. According to reports:

    • More than 20 lakh people have downloaded their e-ration cards
    • E-KYC is almost 90% complete in some constituencies
    • Many eligible women are waiting for Rs.2500 under Mahila Samriddhi Yojan.

Why is Ration Card Verification Important?

Since 2013, many people’s life situations have changed. Some individuals listed on ration cards might have migrated or passed away, and some women may not be listed as the head of the family. Due to these factors, the government is ensuring that the right beneficiaries receive assistance.
